Rome is one of the most traveled cities in Europe. Just grab a Gelato in your hand and be ready to explore the city.
Rome - the empire of Augustus has nearly everything to offer you on your visit to this city. Ranging from the world famous Gelato to Pizza, from Colosseum to Vatican City, from the amazing local streets to Metro.
One thing I love most about this place is, it is full of art and architecture.
One thing I love most about this place is, it is full of art and architecture.
On almost every corner of street you will find a bunch of artists expressing their heart in form of their paintings.
Street performers, just make your day by playing music, performing magic etc. You won't be able to stop yourself from dancing on the rhythm of these performers.
I sometimes feel, art is in the veins of Italian people and Rome is a spectacular example of this.
What to expect in Rome?
Currency: Euro (Always carry some cash with you because cards are not acceptable at all places)
Transport: There are many public transport (Buses, Metro, Trams). They are not even pocket friendly but also easy to use.
Language: Romans speak Italian language. Though you will find a few people speaking English, but learning some commonly used phrases, would connect you to the locals( Grazie - Thank you , Ciao - Hello , Per Favore- Please , Come va - How are you?..... are a few to mention but would do a magic!!!)

Getting To Rome
Getting to Rome is easy. There are lot of airlines from all the over world which will lead you to Rome. If you are somewhere in Europe then you can also visit Rome using Railways. Most Rail Lines will lead you to Roma Termini- the central station of Rome.Travelling within Rome
I personally prefer to explore the maximum spots of this city by walk. By this way you not only explore the hidden beauty but also get the advantage to experiencing the city in a local way. Also most of the prime monuments in Rome are at a walk-able distance of approx 10 mins each.
You can also get a Roma Pass according to your duration of stay in Rome. The validity of pass ranges from 48 hours to 72 hours and you can also get free access to many museums and monuments using these passes.
What to see in Rome?
If you plan to see each and every corner and each and every monument of this city, then boyyy!!! you really need at least 15 days or even more.
But if you are on a short visit to Rome, then make a check list of what do you wanna see first so that you dont miss the major spots.
Below are the 6 must see attractions of Rome from my hot list!!
1. Colosseum and Roman Forum
One of the medieval age wonders and largest built amphitheater in its period, Colosseum will bring you to the age of Gladiators.
Just beside Colosseum is Roman Forum, originally the center of old Rome. A place where you can find the ruins of market place and government buildings.
2. The Pantheon
One of the best preserved of all the Ancient Roman buildings, Pantheon former Roman temple, now a church.
3. Trevi Fountain
It is one of the most famous fountains in the world. Nearly, coins of worth 3000 euros are thrown each day in the fountain. It is said that if you throw a coin in the fountain, you will one day return to Rome.
4. Vatican City
Vatican City is an independent state located within Rome. If you plan to visit Vatican city and want to see every bit of it then, guys you be ready to spend one whole day and trust me, its worth it.
Do visit the church, museum and the dome. Be sure, to start your day early, to avoid long queues and utilize maximum of your time.
5. Villa Borghese
This Park has it all, the fountain, museum, temple, statues, garden are just a few to be named. When you are tired of walking around the city and want to relax and enjoy the time with your kids and family, you can come here, relax and enjoy the natural beauty.
6. Piazza Navona
It is one of the best known, Rome's public square. The most beautiful part of Piazza Navona are its three fountains. One of them being "Fountain of the four rivers". Today there are number of cafes around the Piazza, where you can sip a cup of coffee, while watching street performers.
